ALTERATIONS: WHAT TO EXPECT
Alright babes, you’ve found your dream dress, now you just need it to fit you! We have an AMAZING team of seamstresses in house ready to do just that. One of the things that makes us so unique, is that we have in-house alterations. So not only can you have all your questions answered about bustles, fit, and any customizations, but this also means that our alterations specialists know how to fit you in that gown because we have a good idea as to how it was constructed. Our team takes pride in choosing gowns that are not only something our brides will want to wear, but something our seamstresses would feel comfortable altering! Now, let’s get into what you can expect when you come in for your first fitting.
Don’t get me wrong, trying on dresses is a blast. But finding your gown and having it altered to fit not only your body but your personality as well, is an unmatched feeling. Especially when you can take a gown and add YOUR flare to it! Want some custom sleeves? Or maybe some more lace on your train? How about a glitter overskirt? You got it, babe! We want to help you feel the most confident in your gown, so finding a gown that represents you is so important!

Now, in order to get the perfect fit, there are a few things we need from you. First things first, you absolutely do not need to wear shape-wear, but if it helps you feel more comfortable and confident, bring it, babes! Sometimes it can be hard during your shopping appointment to envision what the gown would look like, especially when it isn’t in your right size. It can be easy to blame your body, or feel that you need to lose weight before your wedding. Something that you might hear us say often, you are perfect, the gown just needs alterations. Secondly, a few things that you MUST bring, your dress, your shoes, and YOU! (and maybe a hair tie)
After your fitting is over, your alterations specialist will give you an accurate quote as to how much your alterations will cost. This quote could range anywhere from $600-$1,000. It all depends on what your gown needs! You will not owe anything on your alterations until you leave with the gown and are happy! Your seamstress will then set you up for a next fitting, and you’ll be on your way!
